What is Kinesio Taping?

Kinesio Taping is a technique based on the body's own natural healing process. This Kinesio Taping exhibits its efficacy through the activation of neurological and circulatory systems. This method basically stems from the science of Kinesiology, hence the name "Kinesio". Muscles are not only attributed to the movements of the body but also control the circulation of venous and lymph flows, body temperature, etc. Therefore, the failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms.

What does it do?

Kinesio Taping gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for Preventive Maintenance, Edema, and Pain Management.  The Kinesio Taping Method is applied over muscles to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused tired muscles, and to support muscles in movement on a 24hr/day basis. It is non-restrictive type of taping which allows for full range of motion and can be worn up to 3-5 days without the need for re-taping.  You can shower, exercise, and play sports with kinesio tape without the tape coming off.  At NOVA Chiropractic & Wellness we incorporate the use of kinesio tape in our treatments to aid in and speed up the healing process.

Kinesio tape has the ability to:

•    Re-educate the neuromuscular system
•    Reduce pain
•    Enhance performance
•    Prevent injury
•    Promote good circulation and healing

Could a chiropractor put an end to bedwetting?
If bladder control seems elusive, consider chiropractic. If spinal bones are interfering with nerves that control your child's bladder, plastic sheets, alarms and other methods simply add to the embarrassment. Springfield parents are often amazed (and relieved) that chiropractic can be so helpful. Learn more.
